have you flat towed your truck?
What I'm asking is have you towed your f100 with another truck using a tow bar connected to the bumper?
If so how did it tow?
I have a tow bar and I am making a few connection points to bolt to the front bumper. I need to move it to NV about 1200 miles away. I can rent a trailer for 500$ or put that money into parts to make her tow able. Like new tires, shocks and ?? I will save money and get more needed parts. I just don't know how well they tow. Should I get a steering damper?

Mine is probably a whole different bird to tow then yours but I mounted a couple of receivers. Just like the ones used on most vehicles towed behind motorhomes today, this is how I tow my Tacoma and now my 59 F250 4x4. I use a "brake-buddy" and the only issue I have had when Towing Teddy is with the factory caster set at o in soft sand the wheels like to kink. So i just tie the steering wheel off with a rope. I have put several thousand miles on him behind the Motorhome. The point I'm trying to make is that if the suspension, tires and steering are good you should be good to go. If it has an auto trans just pull the drive-line. If you pull it with a large moving van you could probably get by with out a brake-buddy if you go easy on downhills.
Good luck
