Replaced Fuel pump--it won't start
97' 7.3 turbo.........a couple weeks ago I sprung a huge leak from my filter housing..it was shooting a stream of fuel 6' easily. I had only driven to the gas station and back and used up almost half a tank of fuel in less than 30 miles. I put in a new o'ring kit in the fuel bowl, new filter and checked for leaks every where. I went to start it and not even a cough. I was told it could possibly be the fuel pump had crapped out so I tore the thing down and replaced the pump with a brand new one. Every thing fit in nicely and got her back together and thought I had it licked. I even filled the fuel bowl hoping to prime it so it wouldn't have to work so hard. I went to start it and turned it over for about 20 seconds at a time and nothing. I did that about 8 times and still won't start. It's acting like she's not getting fuel, it was still running when I shut it down because of the leak but now it won't even fart. My batteries are almost new and turn it over at least 200-250 rpm. I keep thinking because of the massive leak it may have kicked the fuel pump reset on it but can't find that sucker either.
I need to get this thing on the road quick...also no reading on the scanner either........ I'm seriously losing it guys, I've actually been thinking of checking out my Israeli penetrator rounds on it.

Thanks for all the ideas....well I pulled the fuel filter housing back out, I found a minor leak. While I had it out I found a mass of burnt wires all fused together, I repaired all the wiring and in my haste to get it back together I forgot to hook up the return lines to the regulator.....jumped in, turned the key and she fired right up. I got out and there was fuel pretty much pouring all over the place. I shut it down again and hooked up the return lines and then it wouldn't start again. Do those lines have to be in a certain order....I can't tell if one was supposed to go to the top or bottom, if I crossed those I wouldn't think it would matter. Also I'm wondering if I don't have a clog somewhere between my regulator and tank on the return lines. Any idea's out there, I can build hotrods and Harleys but don't know squat about fuel injection. Any help would be greatly appreciated, this is the best Ford forum out there.
