you will hear a lot of tall tales.... but 1-3 mpg...is usually best with most just gaining 1-2... I added a mini maxx, intake and exhaust.. and gained 3.. but that's running a 250hp setting.. 8,000lb trucks just we're not built to attain great gas mileage... every tuner is different I tried the sct to start with...and it was decent.. but broke down spent the $$$$ on a h&s.. imho way better product!

I have a mini maxx my truck is deleted...egr off by programmer no block plates... 18-20mpg?? city?? hwy?? is that hand calculated or by the famous lie-o-meter?? I'm also lifted with big tires/wheels... I started off with an sct 8900 tsx extreme which was pretty good.. just never liked how it shifted... so I upgraded to what a big majority of people think is the best tuner... h&s mini maxx and I agree with the masses!

I've had my DPFR 4.0+ and delete pipe on my 08 CCSB XLT 4x4 for a year now. I have gone from getting high 15's mpg highway to 18.5-19.5 mpg highway driving the speed limit. I keep the rpm under 2000 rpm. Towing I've gone from mid to high 11's mpg to high 12's-low/mid 13's mpg on relatively flat terrain driving around 65 mph. Worst mileage was 12.3 driving into a 15-20 mph wind. The downside of this programmer is that it only flashes engine and leaves transmission stock. The upside is that it is stackable with a programmer that needs to be plugged into the truck to work that can change transmission strategies. It also eliminates regens and shuts down EGR. And it only cost less than $500.

I hate to disagree with GREG B. but it's a little hard 2 believe from everything I've seen/learned on these trucks...from this forum also. You deleted the truck added a 75hp tune... and gain 3.5-4 mpg?? and 2 mpg towing. 11-13 towing.. you must not be towing very much?? Maybe if you had a 2wd single/ext cab....those numbers would be more believable....This is why so many people get excited about adding "mpg's" only to find out it's not true... Quite a few threads mentioning 1-3 mpg at most....most generally people gain 2mpg.

Strokin, That's how it is. All mileage is hand calculated. I record every tankful. I'm towing 7000 pound 20' enclosed car hauler with a flat front. The same trailer and driving style with my old 6.0L (05 LWB extended cab 4x4) never hit 12 towing and only got around 16.5-16.7 mpg on the highway. My 06 F150 EC 4x4 5.4L w/ 3.55 gears only got 17mpg on the highway and 8.7-10 mpg towing on relatively flat terrain. On the diesels it seems the higher hp tunes give the best fuel economy if you keep your foot out of it. The main goal I had when I purchased and installed the programmer and DPF delete was to add longevity to the engine by eliminating regens and gain a little mpg. I have to say that goal has been exceeded. I never expected that much gain in mileage. I do drive easy. I don't jackrabbit start and am watchful of boost and rpm. I try to keep boost under 20 psi as much as possible and try to stay under 2000 rpm while cruising. And I rarely use cruise control.

point well taken man... if you can do it.. all power 2 you... mpg's are always a touchy subject...but there's so many different variables in the mix...not always easy to compare apples to apples.....people aren't always honest... they want their truck 2 seem better! I know a couple 6.7 guys that secretly miss their 6.4's for certain reasons but they would never tell any1 that....lol
