Good Morning Everyone,
I'm new here to the site and I've come to ask for assistance. The front wipers on my truck have recently stopped working. I bought the motor yesterday and with a little bit of youtube help I attempted to replace it myself. I was able to take the wipers off, cowl and all the other pieces, finally getting to the motor. Now I'm stuck !!!. I've tried all in my power to get the motor off but I'm not able to. There is 3 screws I can see underneath but it is almost impossible for me to reach them. Does anyone have any insight or maybe a trick I missed on how to get the motor out ? Any help would be appreciated. PS: I'm no mechanic at all, just a young guy trying to save money and learn lol.

 

You have to remove those 3 screws. I've attached a PDF of the shop manual pages.

 

Thanks so much for the help Alloro...Quick Question. I see on that PDF step 1 says Remove the mounting arm and pivot shaft and has a link. Could you also provide that pdf if possible or direct me on where to find it ? ( Mounting ARM and Pivot Shaft - Windshield Wiper). I also see it is for a 1999 expedition. Does the same apply for my 1998 ? Again thank you so much for the help.

 

The reason I ask that is because I really don't see a way for me to be able to reach the 3 bolts without taking something else off to be able to turn the steel arm the motor is connecting to or something of that nature.

Will do.. I know where my mistake was and have to figure out how to do fix it....It tells me on the manuals to have the wipers to the highest point ( like if it was cleaning the glass)... I did not do that and once I got to the motor, the arms aren't letting me take it out... going to try vice grips to turn them somehow but they are pretty locked up since the motor is dead completely.
