What holds the dash to the body?

Looks like a lot of movement on the passenger side of the dash. It looks like the only thing holding it is the screw by the windshield. There must be more underneath but I don't know where to look.

Search turned up nothing but I might be using the wrong terms.

Anyone know? Thanks.

did you check the lower dash mount behind passenger kick panel?
I'll try and find a link to it.

Thanks for the speedy response. I'm going to look behind the kick panel right now!

Subbed. Is there any mounts besides the kick panel and screws by the windshield?

I believe there is one or two mounts under dash, but I'm not too sure. I just remember coming across the passenger kick panel one a while ago.

There is also a strut on the passenger side near the trans tunnel.
You can see the captive nut on the engine side of the firewall.

That was an easy fix. I had to drill another hole in the L bracket where it screws into the dash and I had to cut off about ½" on the side that screws to the body so the L bracket hole lined up with the body nut. A couple small pilot holes in the dash plastic so it didn't crack. Hopefully it holds. Thanks again.

This is awesome. I just bought a '93 Lightning this past weekend and wondered why the dash jumped around like it was loose on the passenger side. Now I know!

I recently replaced the entire dash on my 94 Flareside..the dash that I got from LKQ had the updated metal bracket riveted to the sub/secondary support....I added an additional 5/16 bolt and locknut to the bracket as well...The original dash was cracked so bad, there wasn't much holding the assembly off of the floor....Now,no more rattles,no more squeeks, and no more"What happened to your dash??"

My dash always squeaks and rattles. It does it the worst in the heat. I was on a mission to eliminate the noise, now I just live with it and turn up the tunes
