Seems that most, if not all of us are in support of both issues here.. namely, gun ownership, and a good old truck build. For the same reason, I'm guessing. When not in Baja, I hang my hat in Texas, and there is no question here about either subject. Donkeys and Elephants aside, I see lots of old bumps & dents, with 30-30's in the window rack. I feel that if you moved all the bullets in Texas, the Earth's center of gravity would be affected, and we might just wobble out of control.

By the way, I saw a very nice, light blue & white '70 bump yesterday, just tooling down Hwy. 377, South of Fort Worth. And yes, the old cowboy did have a 30-30 in the rear window. Just the way I like 'em..

I have a gun rack for mine, but I took it out since I don't have a gun to put in it. I probably wouldn't anyway, there is no use for a rifle here in the city besides attracting attention.

I still have a gun rack since 1978. It was for many uses mostly with c/o camper on.
1. rifle.
2. Bat & ball & catchers mitt.
3. fishing poles.
I always have a use for it at one time or another..

Okay, guys, maybe it might be time to make your own thread if you want to talk this much about gun control.

I've just been in and out of the machine shop going over things and checking up with the guy. He machined the valve guides narrower so the seals would fit and shorter so the springs would clear. He also ported it a little more today. He's got the bottom end now and he's going to be making that all work together.

Updates? Ask and ye shall receive. Final machining was all finished up this morning. Picked it up and gave the man his money. I then measured out the stud threads and bought some small block Chev studs. My valvetrain is very Bowtie-like.

Rockers: Chevrolet 250
Valves: Chevrolet 350
Studs: Chevrolet 350

Funny how that works.

Are the rocker studs 7/16?
Looks good, parts coming in is always a good thing.

7/16" base and 3/8" above. I honestly can't remember why I got 3/8" instead of 7/16". There must have been a reason. Oh well, I'm not too worried about it. My cam profile isn't insane and the revs aren't going above 6,000. They'll do just fine. I always buy quality parts.

The rockers come in both 3/8" and 7/16" is what I meant.

No. The slotted pushrod hole acts as a guide plate.
