It's a 4 day handgun personal self defense course. I had to buy 650 rounds for it so it'll be a lot of shooting.

Only 650? I go through more than that in 1 day at the range when I want to have some fun

That's not when shooting my black powder though.

I pumped through a whole case of 12 gauge in a matter of about 20 minutes. Then ammo disappeared.....

Well it's more of a training camp then a "Here's a gun and here's some ammo now go shoot" kind of thing.

Ah, going shooting ....a little shooting music, please.....

(Also, these guys aren't from the south. They're from Arizona).

I would be interested in your thoughts on Frontsight. It looks interesting. My former boss and I used to discuss going to Frontsight. Their literature/blogs are good reads.
I have done some defensive handgun training at KR Training near College Station, TX. Good experience. Learned a lot at the classes.

My Uncle Sam had given me some pretty good training on hand guns 45cal. to 50cals. And at a later date was followed by returning lead from AK47's

Will do, hillcountryflt.

I can't BELIEVE the sheer amount of slot machines EVERYWHERE. I go into a 7/11 and what do I find? Slot machines. Airport? Slot machines. Hotel? Slot machines!

Turns out my dad rented an Equinox. I wasn't having any of it. I promptly held his man card hostage until he upgraded to a real car. I present to you the rent-a-whip:

Yep. They are EVERYWHERE! I was surprised by that too when I was there.

I also noticed how bad the roads are. You would think with all the money being lost in that town, they might be able to fill some potholes.

they are even in the grocery stores. When we moved here it took some getting used to. Now a place seems weird if it doesn't have them.

My dad said they had a nickel slot machine on the diesel boat he served on. Somebody stole it from somewhere (Atlantic City?) and they kept it in the control room. Problem was, while the boat was in dry dock, a civilian contractor's wife called the base commander complaining that her husband had lost his entire paycheck playing the machine. Oops. That ended that.
