My valves are on a back order of 10 to 12 weeks. That puts a slight delay on things. I'm also trying to get a job in the Albertan oil fields to do a little gas rigging. If I'm hired, all my money will go to a 4x4 truck and things will be delayed further, but the payoff will be worth it.

Don't have that kind of money on hand. I'd probably end up with a Ranger or F150. I just need something that's a 4x4. I'd prefer to just borrow a truck for a month.

In my neck of the woods, you can pick up an old 4x4 f150 for pretty cheap. And the 5.0/5.8 engines are strong.

Watching this thread and taking copious notes for when I am working on my own truck.

Consider a 92-96 Bronco... IIRC, up to 93 the top comes off. After that, the seatbelt mounts are on the "shell".

2X Hio. Back in the day I owned a 95 Bronco. Loved it. Just one note, if you buy one and it has those P.O.S. (Dana) automatic locking hubs you have to stop and back up 10 to 20 feet to disengage them when getting back out of 4x4. Nobody told me and I found out the hard way.

I'll only start the search for a truck once I am told I have a job.

That's impossible when mine has custom colours.

Still waiting on news from Alberta, and since I don't want to spend money I might have to put towards another truck, I'll do something free and strip the interior on the weekend.

Trozei, thanks for the photo's of your build and the little circles, I was able to pull my front clip this morning. I have the same model as you with the 240 motor (its bad) but I picked up a donor with a 390 so I will be following your build good luck and its looking good so far

Glad I could help. I knew someone would find it useful. Actually though if you'd read a couple posts later you'll see how I explain that my engine is actually a 300 with a 240 head, thank God.

Yeah i kinda took another look and saw that green was darker. Maybe i just thought that with all this patina on mine it might have look like that back in the day. Hope you get the job but damn man thats gonna derail this thread.

My original colour was Boxwood so there are a couple spots that I can still see it, such as the front of the cowl. Anyway, still waiting to hear back from Alberta so while I wait I've pulled some parts off the engine and dug out my metal gauge bezel and I'll slowly bead blast them at work throughout the week. I don't want to let the project sit around.

I've found a company that does custom aftermarket gauges. I'll likely send my gauge bezel to them and have them fit me up some gauges.
