This is a regular 5th wheel that has the back drop gate of a toy hauler. This is NOT a toy hauler. Do you think you would do a party deck? Seems like this is one of the latest, greatest things. Just curious what you think.

I have seen a few of them. I think it can be a nice alternative.

I guess you would have to always be aware of the lift gate to make sure you have the rear clearance in you camping site to use deck.

I have seen folks already doing this with the tailgate on their toy hauler.

load capacity of the cables would be my concern.

I'm not sure it would work well in central Minnesota or Florida, mosquito's and all.

You can tell its a party set up, otherwise, who needs a adult proof fence to keep them from falling out!

Thing I don't like about it, is you would have to close up every night. Otherwise you leave your items, vulnerable.

Is it an easy thing to tear down and close up?

Plus, I would like to see an awning that stretched out to completely cover the patio.

A few years ago, it was kind of the rage for a drop down patio on the curb side. No need to close up was nice (as you had a sliding door to the inside).

Didn't work for us to get one, but I thought it was an interesting idea. Not many made like that anymore. Guess it didn't catch on.

However, I do like the rear patio idea used in conjunction with the new 385AMP. Doors out to the patio. Still missing a full awning though.

I guess it depends on your lifestyle - I have seen several at campgrounds around the country - I would not worry about it's ability to function, hold the weight etc. I am confidant that it works as it is designed to.

However - for me - and we are all different - camping is a relaxing social time for me, nothing like my chair on the ground, a campfire and meeting new friends - and old friends - the patio design - again at least for me - looks like it would isolate you from other campers - but that may be what YOU want - but I like to meet the new person walking by and stopping by to talk at the fire.

Keep us posted if you get one and how you like it !
