I did Zbart rust proofing and sound deadener. Keeps the suspension and underbody looking like new. My dad sold me on it with his 2001 F150 screw. He still has perfect rockers and cab corners. His truck still looks new. Here in Michigan rockers and cab corners are quite rare to still have. Michigan winters and salt eats cars here. My truck looks better than new still. Been threw one winter so far.

And Wayne county seems the worst for the crap they spray on the roads!

5.0STX, where did you find a Ziebart place in Michigan? I looked and there didn't seem to be any of them anymore.

Ypsilanti Mi corner of Hewitt and Elsworth. Guy named Larry owns it. He did a perfect thrall job. I strongly recommend him.

My dad sprays LPS3 in his doors and fenders. His 2001 F150 sport has no rust. Me, I try to buy a new truck every 4 or 5 years. Here in Chicago land the we get more salt on the streets than snow.

I live in south where rust is not much of a problem. But - in '97 I bought a '93 Dakota from Ohio that had been Ziebart treated when new. 21 year old truck, stored outside, not a bit of rust! So it's first four years was spent in rust country. Like old 5.0STX, I can recommend Ziebart.

been using KROWN spray for 25 years on a dozen vehicles; no rust on any; retails for $125. a treatment, but if you get a few buddies together they will usually give you a discount to around $100.00 each.

After stumbling upon this thread I have an interest in coating my truck with the FF. Has anyone used the spray gun sold by the Rust Store? Is there a flexible wand of some sort available to attach to a sprayer? After my experience with a 98 Expedition where the rockers, front cross member rusted out next to the lower control arm and the radiator and body mounts were on the verge of rotting out I want to be a little more proactive. I recently saw an old LandRover in good shape that spent its entire life on Nantucket and the owner simply sprayed the undercarriage with Marvel Mystery oil once a year with a hand pump pressure sprayer.

I used the spray gun that came with my kit, not sure what one I have or what one you are referring to. Mine has nothing flexible, but it sprays on nice and didn't need anything flexble. I did not spray forward of the cab, didn't want a coat of it on engine.

I bought the undercoating gun from the Rust Store and it works great. There are no hoses or anything to attach to it but it throws a nice pattern as is. Just make sure to not run the wand at too high of pressure or you will mess it up(I had one go bad and think it was because I forgot to turn the pressure down form the 100psi it was at)I usually run mine around 60-80psi. I like having a coarse spray instead of a fine mist.

If you use the spray cans for hard to reach areas there is a flexible hose with a 360deg nozzle you can buy for $14 and it works great for getting inside the doors and rockers.
