I have a 88 f150 4x4 automatic with issues
i bought the truck it ran ok for about a week then the transmission dropped all of its fluid. took that tranny out put in tranny number two which never worked , pulled that tranny and got tranny number three which would only go into first and second pulled that tranny and put in tranny [/LEFT][/LEFT][/LEFT]

 

Sounds like you have natural safety switch issues with trans number 4, jump it at the fender mounted relay if wanna work around for it a minute try it out not get into ignition issues.

What auto trans does it have? what auto trans did it start with if not the same?

Safe to assume all of them have been the "C6" or no?

If C6 was the vac line to the shift modulator good no leaks?

AOD?

TV cable adjusted correctly?

 

thanks will try that today. the orginal was a c6 the next 2 appear to be aod's number 4 is c6 will keep you posted on the progress or lack of it
