computer problems

I have a 1994 ford bronco with a 5.0l automatic. I just attempted to put it on a computer to find out what the code is on my check engine light and the computer didnt even register. Could you please let me know how this can be fixed?

Welcome to FTE, Your Bronco is a 1994 and I do believe its an obd 1 system . Your computer is in the bronco and what your using to find the codes is a scanner. Are you sure your scanner is obd 1 compatible ? obd 2 will not work on that year bronco. What symptoms are you having with your truck. TR

just ground the self test input to the battery and count the flashes of the check engine light.

If that doesnt work, you could have a bad EEC, which would explain your problems.

Ive seen at least a dozen 94 EEC's go out in the last few months, including 2 of mine.
