pre pump filter for hutch mod?

looking to gather the parts for the "hutch mod" and as most of them are straight forward, im having trouble with the filter.

the filter should be easy too but i thought i picked one out. I then emailed the manufacturer about using it on the suction side of the pump for diesel.

the response i got was "This Base and the filters that fit it should not be installed on the suction side of the fuel pump."

so, i thought maybe i picked out the wrong base/filters. so i reworded my email to ask from scratch what filter i should use on the suction side.

"We do not make those recommendations. We do offer the original equipment replacement filters for your engine. If you need an interchange, I’ll be glad to help but I cannot make a recommendation for any type off an add on filter."

so, in short, what have you guys been using?

I've had the one in my signature installed for a while now, with no problems at all.

Tugly, where did you source the racor from and approximately how much did you pay for it?

Yes, it's fine on either side. I just noticed that Stanadyne's filtration products division has been sold off though. I don't know what that means as far as element availability going forward. There isn't really any information available on their website.

Here is where I recently purchased mine for $58.95 plus $7.98 for domestic S&H (total cost of $65.93) >>>> TDS Industries - Racor PS120-02 Strainer / Pre-Filter
