hello everyone. well some of you have heard i was in a nasty motorcycle wreck last tuesday. a white van pulled right out in front of me and all i had time to do was swerve for his hood so thst i didnt smack into thr whole side of the van. i was gong about 55mph when we collided. i also tried to jump in order to clear his hood. AND i blacked out as soonas i hit the pavement.

as a result i have 8 fractured vertibrea a broken rib, a broken ankle, and a broken wrist. oh and a bit of road rash. i have had one surgery on my wrist already and am going to have surgery on my left foot as well. of and a broken tooth lol.

any way im okish and recovering but please always look both was good before entering the road. you may just save a riders life.

Hey everybody. I was actually a little successful last week in Nampa. Finally got an oil dipstick and was suprised to find out there was actually oil still in my motor.

I had a couple of lucky auto fixes last weekend that I thought I would share.
1. I came home from work last week and my wife told me that the tahoe was leaking oil. I had read a bunch of horror stories about oil pan gasket replacement and I feared the worse. I took the truck back to the shop and prepped for a full day of work. As I was draining the oil I reached up to take the oil filter off and found it was only loosely on. I guess the last oil change jockey hadnt tightened it up. I took a chance and put a new filter on and refilled the oil. So far we have been drop free for the week.

2. I was driving the F100 last week and it just wouldnt idle well. I figured it just needed adjustment. So I turned the idle mixture screw in a turn, no change. I turned it out two turns, no change. I noticed it was missing a vacuum cap on the carb. I put a new cap on and the motor died. Now i was really confused.

I pulled the carb off in preparation for a quick clean and rebuild. As I was disassembling the linkage and external fittings i pulled the idle mixture screw out and there was no needle on the end. Looking in the throat of the carb and the need is jammed firmly in the hole. I guess the PO had turned it in too far and broke it off. i had to press it out with pliers. Since i didnt have a idle mixture screw in the rebuild kit I grabbed an old nail from the bucket that was about the right size, threaded the body and screwed it in. I didnt think it would work, but why not try. Runs like a champ. (At least until a new part shows up in the mail)

Anyway, just thought I would share.

thanks man i appreciate it. yeah i have had a few close calls before as well. ive been riding road bikes for 6 years and been dirt biking my whole life. i am a very defensive rider on the roads, but there was no chance/ time to really react in this accident
