460 Bronco Engine swap or F250

Hi, I'm looking at buying a truck and I'm not sure what to go with. I wont be doing a ton of towing, but i want the power to tow pretty much whatever I need. Im on a small budget, under 2,000, and I've done a lot of craigslist browsing and narrowed it down to 3 options. Either buy a cheap bronco with a blown engine for about $800 and swap it with a 460 big block(my brother-in-law works on cars all the time and said hes done it and can help me do it) or buy a cheap f250 and fix it up. There are several late 80's early 90'sf250's for about $1200 that need a transmission which i can get for a couple hundred. There's also a couple f250 6.9s that dont need much work but have high mileage over 350k. Any thoughts or opinions would be greatly appreciated

broncos do not make good tow rigs regardless of what motor you put in it. the short wheelbase make it unsafe towing more than 6000lbs.

the work involved to install the 460 could be extensive. I would go the F250 route since you can get the 460 stock and be done with it.

How do the broncos do hauling a small trailer with an atv or similar load?
And what do you think of the 6.9 diesel vs 460?

hauling a small trailer is fine. I used to tow my 19" travel trailer with my bronco, had to install a trailer brake and use a weight distributing hitch system. just had to go slow down mountain roads. Going strait was fine unless a side wind hit me then things got interesting.

I don't know much about either motor. I will say that my bronco has a 5.8 and pulled my trailer just fine so I am unsure if going to a big block or a diesel is necessary.
