factory h pipe from ford
Now yesterday I was just looking at old threads on exhausts and I stumbled across this photo from another user and was like "a H pipe from ford on the 300?" I know this topic has been thrown around plenty of times. I wonder if the torque and hp ranges would increase or decrease. I remember one time before I joined FTE I saw a bull nose 80's truck with an X pipe right before thw dual in/dual out flowmaster. Wonder what that would a sounded like.

i found one while looking for a rim for my spare tire today at the junkyard. once i do my head swap with oversized valves and some freshening up, i plan on using the factory "H-pipe" setup, with at least 36 or 40 inch secondaries, to an inverted y fitting, then a moderately sized chambered and welded muffler, then out to about 6 inches of 2 1/2 pipe with a turndown. oughtta help her breath better and keep velocities to a happy speed helping with scavenging...plus it'll sound freakin schweet!

FordBoy 300: That is an oem efi exhaust from Ford. Some of the efi's have them to the cat, and then go single pipe from there. I am planning on using one and tapping into it to go dual, or taking the new 2 into one pipe and cutting them apart before they Y, and using that. I believe the Y pipes are larger, 2 1/2". The part # is Walker 40633, but it doesn't look like it has the oem cross tube. It runs over $350. And that means splice time.
I see that style often in the yards, but they are usually torn up because the first thing they take in the j/ys is the cat, and they're not gentle. ouch.

You should see my setup dude it's really wild lol its 2 1/4 from the manifolds to the muffler and the Magnaflow muffler I have does a Y inside I believe. But I put two exhaust Cutout it sounds good but not as good as when I had headers of course lol so I might take off the cutouts since my neighbor want to buy them off me and have my buddy at his exhaust shop rig up a H pipe of some sort for my truck. But we we'll see what the future brings us. I can't wait to see what your setup sounds like.
