Trailer tow command

My brother-in-law has an 09 f350 with the trailer tow command system. How can we remove the module for a look see and maybe check out the wiring harness. He was having an issue with a message that said trailer disconnected while towing his 5th wheel. All the light worked but no brakes at the trailer. I read some place that the command module could have a loose connection. So we removed enough from the from to push my finger on the side. Now everything seems OK. I still would like to remove and have a look. Does anyone have the step by step for removal?

Does he only get the message when the trailer is connected? I know if you start to get it repeatedly even without the trailer connected its a sign your batteries are on the way out.

To access the TBC you have to remove the center stack cover. The nice pretty fake wood piece.

Two 8mm bolts and then the rest is just pressed in there with tabs like under the steering column piece.

These two bolts are one on each side. First is the cigarette light and then the other side.

Take a small screwdriver and you can see a small opening on the botton to pull the plate off and expose the bolts.

Once you take the stack cover off you should be able to see it from there.

Most wiring faults center around the rear plug at the back of the truck. Check the connections. Take the plug apart.
