1978 F250 Scab CS 4x4 steering column/window ?s
Quick questions from a newb.
After having read the thread warning about certain rag joints, I looked under my hood to see if mine was in good shape. I assume since my column has a u-joint just outside the firewall, and another near the steering gear, I don't have a rag joint? Would this column have come from the factory?
My question mainly pertains to installing a new steering wheel. Grant says to cut off the stub at the top end of the column (thereby making it impossible to revert back to the original steering wheel), so before I yank the old wheel off and look, I was just wondering if anyone knew off hand if this particular column has the stub or not. I think that since it's a stock steering wheel, it probably does? I'm leery of the permanence of this Grant install. With my luck, it would turn out to be an aftermarket column, and I'd cut the stub (if one there) only to find out that the Grant won't mount and then the stock wheel would no longer, either! Murphy seems to follow me around at times!
Oh, and does anyone know how to get the rear vent window plastic clip "hinges" off of the window once it's all removed from the truck? I had another thread about it but no one has answered.
Thank you!

Thanks, brian1080.
Yeah, it's in the instructions to cut on older Fords, mine included, and Grant's cust. svc. confirmed it. I think I'll just go ahead and pull the wheel and look. Just trying to look before I leap, without looking, I suppose!
I'm amazed no one has addressed the rear vent window hinge issue!

Thanks, Mike
Could be friction fit, or PO may have glued it. I'd better wait until I have replacements before I destroy these removing them - rain is forecast!
Wife is angling to buy a 3D printer - "just print your own, and you could modify the design to compensate for a wallowed-out mounting hole. You could print other parts, as needed." Wish it could print a center ac duct....
