Tail lights came out good, but I am going to redo the light sockets. Since they were originally accessed from the trunk the back of the housing is open to the elements. A lot of light gets lost out the back and dirt and water from the rear tires can now get inside the housing. I will be doing them over in a couple weeks, going to take some time away from the garage for a bit.

I look forward to viewing your progress reports. Whatever is taking you away I'm sure is very important. Do come back soon! We'll be waiting...

Time flies here, nobody will miss me lol.. just have a lot of hours at work coming up and some stuff to catch up on before snow flies. Dropped the starter out of the backhoe today, solenoid failed, but had to order it so cant put that back together until next week..also have to swap out the engine on my plow truck soon, spun a rod bearing last year.
So here are a couple preview pics..
Hood has been painted, so that will be going on soon
Token jag IFS picture
And look, some front end assembly going on in between the other stuff!
Thats all I got for awhile!

Back in NY..took a week away with the family, took a cruise to Bermuda. Very nice island, but no hot rods and the speed limit everywhere is 35Kmh! Scooters seem to be the major mode of transportation, no way could I live there.
Should get back to updates as I can, but still a ton of work days coming up and stuff to get done before snow.

Small update, not been pushing as hard since winter is on its way, just have to accept that I will not be driving this truck until March or April depending on how spring goes. At least now I can drive it in and out of the shop and do burnouts in the yard
Redid the tail lights. Originals had open bulbs which would of had road dirt and water thrown at them.
Found these cheap universal lamp sockets
Upper socket I just had to weld up the hole to fit the socket, lower I had to make a small tube extension to keep the bulb from hitting the inside of the lens.
Welded up the top hole and changed the lower hole to a smaller hole.
Sealed up the lower hole from the inside of the fender with some butyl strip and now lights are sealed up, so no worries of damage.
Thats all I got for now!

Long time no post! Been doing other stuff, hitting the fall swap meets and other things to take up my time. Should get back on the truck soon.
Here are some updated pics from today, had to move the truck out of the shop so I could put some drywall on the ceiling, did one 12x24 bay for now to try and keep heat in that area over the winter.
Truck is already being used as a truck, hauling the parts left to finish the build.
Tail lights
Hood back on and a comparison pic of day 1, looks about the same LOL
Final shifter location, ended up working out fine. Truck #1 plans are still to make a remote shifter but this one will stay as is. The Dakota bench is nice because the center console never moves, just the seats slide forward and back.
Hope to get some more done soon!

Hey Dave,
This is like "Highlights Magazine" at the Dr's Office. Can you find the (3) differences in these pictures?
o The Door Handle has disappeared.
o There is a Rat sticking out of the gas tank.
o The rear end is a lot lower.. I'm sure there's more....
Looking good Dave! At least there's no snow on the ground!

LOL you guys are funny!
I am to the point of really needing to push myself to finish up, my attention span is around a year, and I am already anxious to get started on a 41 caddy I have sitting in the next bay. Gonna put a jag IFS under it, fuel injection, possibly jag IRS as well. Not going to rotisserie it so should be a quick build, may be able to do most of it over the winter. I love this old stuff.
Truck #1 body parts are supposed to be getting painted over the winter, so assembly can start in the spring.
