Water pump removal difficulty

Trying to remove the water pump from a V10 6.8L triton on my RV. I have the water pump pulley off and removed the 4 bolts holding the water pump to the block but the pump will not come off? I assume it's just frozen on but I did not want to force it with out checking first. I did tap on it with a hammer and tried gently prying with a small crow bar but it acts like it's still bolted on. Any ideas?

I had my pump off, and it was a bit "sticky", but most likely there is some corrosion around the pump body. There is about roughly 3/8" between the face of the block/wp to the "O" ring that seals it. I would just tap a bit with a "tool" on the pulley flange top and sides, it will come loose. Just watch it doesn't fall and damage the radiator.

Thanks for the reply. I was finally able to remove it using corrosion X and a little reinforcement with my hammer. I'm not a mechanic so I didn't want to keep forcing it and break something.

Yeah the water pump sets back into the block a little which can grab. I have a new pump here that I need to install on my dads V10. Just have to find time.

Make sure you clean the block surface and where the pump slides in good before installing the new pumps.
