1965 Ford Ranger

This is my first post on here, and I've already read through a lot on post on this same topic, I have inherited a 1965 f100 ranger from my grandfather, I was raised driving the truck on the farm. From what I know about the truck, my grandfather purchased it used in 1967. At some point he took out the bucket seats and put in a bench seat(from reading other post and people swapping seat left and right, I have no clue what the bench seat came out of originally) I still have the original bucket seats though, but no center console. So my questions are: Was the console an option or not in the 65 rangers? and Numberdummy I read in an old post on this topic you decoded a warranty badge and said on the 65s that F81 meant black seats? Please help Thanks and glad to be here

Very nice. I'd like to see the bucket seats put back in it. But that's up to you. Post pictures of the seats if you can.

The seats are still at my dads house but I will take some pics this weekend. I'm gonna get them out from under the tarp and oil them down (if thats good form them) I think they are in good shape probably some dry rotting in the stitching though.

bigandy59 Welcome to and the Slicks Forum.

I viewed your photos and saw the truck at the tobacco field and it busted memories. Where in the Tarheel are you located?

Just outside of Greensboro, yea the tobacco is actually Burley that me and my brother in-law farm. Love this time of the year, smell of tobacco in the air as soon as you walk out the door.

Thanks for all of the compliments! It has taken me a month or so to get it back on the road, for sure worth the work though. If any one has the answer to if the console was an option or not? that would be appreciated before I go searching high and low for one.

bigandy59, I also have a F81 65 F100. I understand the console was just an option that could be ordered with the ranger package. I can post pictures sometime of the console and brackets if you need something for reference.
You have a great truck and its nice that it's been in your family all these years.

I am currently about 70 miles east of you, grew up on a dairy & tobacco farm. Have fun with the truck.
