Rescued another engine

I have a thing for old Ford engines.......
My friends and family think I'm nuts, as i probably have 20 sitting around. I'll admit it's a sickness.
I just can't stand to see them scrapped....which is where this one was going tomorrow.

223 from a 56 pickup. It was running a couple weeks ago. The guy yanked it to swap in a SBC
Lot's of good parts if nothing else.......

I hope the exhaust manifold isn't cracked. That's your money right there.

That's a handsome piece of machinery that 223. And a hard worker too. Thanks for saving it

I have the same disease, I view it as preserving history. Have my eye on a GMC 702 V12 that I think needs "preserving".

that looks way to good to go to scrap. sad that some much good iron gets sacrificed for $.10 per pound. hopefully it will find its way into another ford someday.

What does a good 6 cylinder exhaust manifold bring?

I know I've got the same bug, just hauled home a 292 (possibly a later 312) that I found under the hood of a 56 F-350 that was buried in the back of a field. Hoping I can resurrect it to go into a current F-1 project =)

I love the straight 6. I can't believe he pulled it for an SBC. The guy must be crazy.
Thanks for saving it. Now you need to adopt it out to a loving home.

Grab it!!! I've been keeping my eyes open for one of those for years. What an interesting engine.

I too have the sickness. I think I just made a deal to go pick up a early 50's Packard straight 8. Hope to bring it home in a couple of weeks

Have you gotten your mileage out of that tire yet?

The blue one in Aztec? I've been hemming and hawing over that one for a year.

HAha, naw......I think it's good for another season! An old tire works great to keep them from sliding around in the back of the truck.

Glad to see I'm not the only one with this disease....
