JAG IFS steering spline question

Hey gents.
Just wondered whether anyone thought this was a biggie. That is, a big issue.
I have just purchased a 3/4 DD 48 spline uni joint to slot over the Jag steering box. Just realising, of course, the original jag shaft is a unique thing in that it uses a bolt through the side of the joint to snuggle into the shaft once it's pushed onto the spline, thus

The uni joint doesn't have the slotted groove for a bolt. As you probably know, it just has a grub screw which tightens onto the shaft, like so

Now, I have dummy fitted this onto the jag steering box and it tightens up fine, but am I stressing over nothing? I mean, can you see a problem with movement in the shaft, owing to the fact that the groove in the steering box is somewhat significant and the meat that the grub screw can grip on is potentially not substantial.
Has this been a concern for others or no big deal? Any thoughts gents?
Ta.
Peter

Peter , are you going to be fitting your jag f/end by welding it in , or will it be fitted using the jag rubber mounts ?
If it's fitted using the rubber mounts you MUST use the jag steering joint .

Not sure Scott. Farming the job out to a pro. (Basically 99 percent of the world's population who are far more intelligent than I am).
He did tell me to keep all the steering gear from the Jag so maybe he plans on using original mounts. Interesting point. Why is that the case?
Cheers
Peter

Not a big deal. I am installing like any other ujoint, tighten the set screw to make a mark on the rack stub, then drill a small indentation into the stub so that the set screw once tightened cannot move up or down. Same thing on the other end of the joint at the steering column. My jag IFS is welded in so I dont need the jag flexible joint.

Gotcha. So the rubber mounts flex more thus requiring the original shaft to compensate for the flex?

Yes , if the f/end is rubber mounted the flexible jag coupling is needed so there is no damage done to the steering column or steering rack .
