I have just acquired a '74 F150.......

I am also planning to take the front disc brakes from that truck

and then put those on my 1969 F100 (not a Ranger)..

Are the spindles the same size.......Is that even possible?

To answer your question, yes they will swap over. Typically you can do it two ways. Swap the hole I-beams over or swap at the spindals. I swap the spindals on my 71 because everything was new on my front end when I did the swap. Go ahead and use the old calipers as core for rebuilt ones, they are not much. Get new brake lines while you're at it. You will need to use the proportioning valve and master cylinder off the parts truck. You are doing it the right way by having a doner truck. It will save you alot of running around but don't haul off the doner before you finish. there is alot of small things you will need off it to make the job go easier. Does your truck have power-steering. Might be a good time to do that also.
