This is figuring the HD payload using my truck as an example, its Gvrw is 8200, truck left the factory weighing 5972 leaving a payload of 2228. An equivalent 2015 the Gvrw is 350 lbs less (7850) but the truck is said to weigh 700+ less. Therefore I would expect the payload to be ~350 lbs more. So around a 2578 payload would be my guess. That 's a nice payload for a half ton truck.

I looked up the GVWR/payload for my 4.2L regular cab '04 Heritage for comparison. Its GVWR is 6,050 and payload 2,060. Curb weight 3,990.
For a '15 regular cab (from the link) the GVWR is 6,010 and 3.5L payload is 1,910. 2.7L Ecoboost payload is 1,800. Curb weight not listed, but using basic math its 4,100 for the 3.5L and 4,210 for the 2.7L Ecoboost.
Seems like the big aluminum weight saving brings them close to the '97-'03 ('04 Heritage) GVWR with less payload and more curb weight, at least in this 4x2 regular cab example.
