Loose steering very troubling.

I've owned my truck 3 years and just can't get the steering to tighten completely. My dads f350 doesn't have this problem. It's a 91.

I have the 97. Mines lifted 3".
The only thing I haven't done I'd tried a new steering box.

So far I have
-completely rebuilt my steering column.
-installed a drop pitman arm.
All new tie rods and ends.
-dual steering stabilizers. M
I'm just frustrated because on the freeway I'm constantly corralling and correcting. I know it's possible to have tight steering on a lifted truck. I just can't seem to get it.

How about new leaf spring, shackle and track bar bushings. Any one of those being bad could lead to wandering steering...

I was amazed at how all new bushings tightened up the steering on my log f250.

Is your truck a straight axle or ttb. I would start with checking the steering box. Watch the input shaft movement vs the pitman arm movement. If it's tight then go to the next thing.

All new shackle leaf and track bar bushings 6 months ago.

Straight axle. The steering box is literally the only steering component I haven't tried.

Check it for play. You'll need a second person

when you put new spring bushings in, did you also put new bushings in the shackle ears that go inside the frame??
most people forget about them because they are "out of sight, out of mind"

I just remember reading on here that a guy did the same as me replacing every steering component and all front bushings and still had play.

When I did the bushings I did driver and passenger side of leaf spring. Front and rear. And above each of the fronts the bushings replaced the one above them on the shackle.
