2012 Platinum 5.0L. Wanting some feedback from 2012/ 5.0 owners

Looking at picking up a 2012 5.0 Platinum this weekend with around 40k on it. Anything I need to watch out for before I pull the trigger?

Thanks in Advance,

DZ

your sales person will lie to make a sale!!!
I have a 12 with about 30k on the clock and its the best truck I ever owned!!!!!!! every time I set in it, it brings a smile to my face. it tows real nice it handles like a car for a truck of its size!
only thing I have ever had a problem with was when I drive the **** out of it it uses gas and that 36 gallon tank cost about $130 to fill up!

I love mine

I have a 13 FX4 5.0 crew and it tows the race car great. Has lots of power and the best mileage of any vehicle in my house, getting about 16 around town. Never had it back to the dealer for anything. The only thing I've noticed is the rotors are ever so slightly warped which I will handle myself, other than that it's been a great truck!

Went a different route...

Ended up with a 2012 Platinum EB. It had a spray in bedliner, leveling kit, and dealer gave me a good amount on trade for the navigator. Beautiful truck, now i just have to pay for it for 5-6 years lol

Thanks for the advice

My son has a 12 with a 5.0. He gets about the same mileage as my 13 ecoboost. It may cost $130 for a fill up but you can't beat the sound of that 5.0. Your right about the handling. I can toss it into corners and it goes where you point it.

Good choice either way IMO! You'll love either one!

Beautiful truck sir! I have a 12 5.0 with around 51,xxx on it currently. The absolute only complaint I have with the motor itself is a rough idel that it's had since forever. It does t seem to affect anything else and I love it otherwise. Great mileage, power and fun to drive.

You made an excellent choice. The 5.0 is a solid motor.

Ecoboost

I did end up with an ecoboost and not the 5.0. No rumble, but thats what the Boss 302 is for
