Question Brakes stay depressed...

1997 F-250 4x4 When I press down on the brakes then let up on the pedal it does not come up with my foot anymore. Brakes continue to be engaged and slowly disengage. Master cylinder's fluid is full. What do you think?

One or more of the flexible hoses may have collapsed.

Its odd even with collapsed flexible lines the brake pedal doesn't return to rest. There is (or used to be) relief valves in the bore which let the pedal move backward in such situations.

But it could account for brakes not releasing.

It was a leaky/old brake master cylinder.

Thanks. Just got it back from the garage... not sure if it's 100% solved yet though. I'll keep everyone updated.
