2nd time owning this truck

I am new to this forum, but excited to learn and share.

My dad and I bought this 50' F3 when I was in high school, it was my first vehicle. Ended up selling it as a poor college kid and now 15 years later it's mine again!

My dad and grandpa built the bed, we had redone the interior before selling it, the next owners finished the front, now I need to decide what's next. It has a few leaks and needs a new master brake cylinder, but runs and sounds great. Besides fixing the leaks and brakes, I'd like to find some new wheels and just enjoy having it for a while.

Welcome to FTE!

That is an awesome find... again! Fix the leaks and drive it for a while before you change anything else.

That's one nice truck. It has to be exciting having it back again.
I agree with Joe, make sure your brakes are good and drive it around for a while.
What engine do you have in it?
Enjoy that beauty, she will tell you what she needs over time. I would suggest doing all you can to keep it on the road and out of the shop. You don't want it down for long periods of time, trust me on that one....

I would love to see more pictures of your bed as well.

Wow, to get back such a beauty after 15 years, that's really something. So your relationship with your truck continues on, now that is more than something, that is , "RIGHT ON"!!!!! Id like to join the others in welcoming you to FTE, the best site on the web for you and your truck. There are a couple of READ FIRST stickies at the beginning of the threads that have the answers to a lot of frequently asked questions, there is also a button on the top banner marked "FAQ's. I have found this to be a very helpful place to learn how to uses this site. It has a drop down menu, and covers a lot of stuff. OK that's it for now so enjoy, and thanks for sharing your pics and story.

The more I see these 50 and 51's, the more I am starting to appreciate their incredible character. I am only allowed one toy, but if I was allowed more, the next toy would be one of these old girls.

Welcome! I'm with Joe and Harrier - get back on the road and just enjoy the ride. It's good to know there was a second go at an early love.

That's because us Joe's have it going on.
Or we spend too much time on here and not enough time in the garage.

Thanks all

Harrier, the engine is still the original, and it runs great. Here are a few more pics that I have of the bed

What's not to love about that truck? F3 so it can haul a real load and you mentioned it sounds great. Duh, look at those stacks. Great find and welcome to FTE. Huge fan of the monkey face AND the manure spreader trucks. I don't currently own one, but have had some nice ones in the past. Not as nice as that one though.

Thanks for those pictures. I'm planning on making an all wood flatbed for my truck when I get to that point. I appreciate seeing what others have done. That is one nice truck. You have to be so excited to have it back.
