Bilstein stabilizer

Anyone tried to/put a Bilstein 5100 stabilizer in a 2000 Excursion? Looking at picture it has a stud on the end that looks nothing like what's on the truck! Does the stud come out and it's a standard eyelet? Every place shows me same picture so I'm massively confused. Can't find how to mobility add pic so it's here at this link

24-158848 Bilstein Steering Damper, Bilstein 5100 Series Steering Damper, F4-BE5-F884-H0 - TruckSpring.com

Thanks!

That's the same 1 I installed on my a few months ago. Bolts right in place with no issues.

Thanks guys, that's the only one I've seen with a stud on it all others are just the eyelet. Do you guys like it, it's more $$ than most others but I like Bilstein shocks. What shocks you guys running, that's next (mine is stock height)

Unfortunately Bilstein only offers the heavy duty (blue/yellow) shocks for the stock height Excursion you need a lift for the 5100's, Im running the heavy dutys now, they work well, with the spring work I did to the truck I will be switching to the 5100's next time around. The 5100 steering damper is a nice edition to the front end, soaks up bump steer well.

Yeah I'm leaning to the HD's since I'm stock height, wanted the 5100's until I figured out needed to be lifted, but figured I'd stick with the 5100 steering damper because I've read a lot of good about it, hope so since it's twice as much as competitors. Just wasn't too happy with my 9000 Rancho and wanted a change

I like them I am running the Bilstein 5100's. I have the X/B code swap with add a leafs in both front & rear. I love the ride compared to the old crappy springs. Even my wife likes the ride vs the old set up. Her only complaint is it is to high since she is only 5'2". So now I have to design some custom running board/ rock sliders for her.

I was sold on Bilsteins when I put a set under my 07 Dodge Cummins (I know I know ) They sometimes had issues with highway expansion joints and getting into an uncomfortable rhythm bouncing over them (stock springs no lift). The 5100's were the only shocks that fixed that issue

It is sealed at the end. Shock boot is not needed, once compressed the shaft is only a couple inches. Here is a great thread Regarding installation. I even added my own pictures afterwards.

I like running a boot on those for the off road adventures. I've scratched the steel ram on a rock and it's a guaranteed oil leak. The boot helps protect. If you stay on roads, no need.
