No such thing as a one wire regulator. The one wire alternator has the regulator built into it, there is just one main connection, alternator hot to battery positive. There is a another connection if you want the indicator light to work.

Low budget is pick up a used Delco integral regulator alternator (one wire). Another low budget is to pick up a used Delco separate regulator (or Ford separate regulator) alternator complete with wiring harness and put it in.

C&G has the generator repair kit for $30 (brushes, bearings, and a good quality armature made in england). I just did one, pretty easy and cheap as long as your field coils are still good.

I'll check into it, thanks. I checked with a good friend of mine,and he just happened to have a few of them laying around, he just dropped one by so I'll be on the road soon

If you are putting a new generator on then YES to be on the safe side. If you don't you have a 50/50 chance of it being wrong.
