Who thinks my truck was wrecked by the PO?

Had the truck 3 years or so. Few points point to this truck may have been wrecked or a project. Such as no rear cab bolts when I bought it. Rear seats are just like the fronts. There were no visors. And more stuff.

But my main thought is how the brake master cylinder sits up at a backward angle. What do you guys think ?

That is show the master cylinder sits on all these trucks.

As for the front and rear seats being the same, OK. What is the big deal? Someone swapped out a 40-20-40. You should be happy with the upgrade

But the biggest thing you are missing, is the cab was NOT originally red!!!

Yeah. I'm not in happy. I'm just curious. Lol.

But ya. Under the carpet in the cab it's white. And one fender is black. And the bed I took off was a lighter red

Are you sure that's how the all sit. I took a look at mine after reading this and it sits level to the fluid. Although I know mine was hit on the front left. But only hard enough to bend the bumper and wreck the fender. The rad support is all still original. Maybe mine is the efed up one

The cab was originally white, And the red in these years was not clear coated and like to fade to Pink. So not uncommon to repaint it with clear coat.

Also the fender was black, big deal.

You have to remember, there trucks are 20 years old and ALOT can happen in those 20 years

^^^^^^x2. A good inspection prior to purchase can tell you a fair amount. When I bought mine I could tell by the lack of a ford emblem on the driver side fender, a new skirt that goes under the grill and the new bumper. The paint is fairly new but the passenger fender is rusty. If someone had reprinted it solely for looks they would have addressed that as well.

In my mind there are two kinds of wrecked.

Accident or neglect.

With these trucks your lucky to only have to deal with one.

My truck has had the bed swapped the core support redone. Now I have swapped fenders doors and have another cab waiting.

We all want the perfect truck but it is hard to come by. I am not sure how many km are on my truck but the Odo has been over 400 once with me and at least once prior.

Over all I am happy that it has all the parts mostly attached except for the rust situation.

Now if only I could take it all apart and make it new again!

I was just curious as to what everyone thought. Don't bother me one bit. I've just questioned it since I bought it and thought I'd ask for opinion.
Keep in mind that I absolutely LOVE My 7.3 power stroke and wouldn't do anything to change it !

It does look a little extreme. Have taken the booster off to see if it had failed and the fire wall got pushed out from pushing the pedal hard? Just a thought

Nathan's got a good point. I think I read a thread about a weak spot in the firewall that would crack. Though I may be thinking of a different vehicle. Maybe this brings memories back of some of the gerus on here

No I actually haven't taken it off before. In the 3 years I've owned it that's how it's sat the whole time. And I haven't had any problems with the brakes at all.

Would it be a good idea then to do so ?

These trucks did NOT have a problem cracking the firewall. But the 91 and older trucks did.

Also, I just looked at my 5 trucks and the angle of the master cyl is the same as yours

There you go. I used to cruise the pre powerstroke forums. That must have been where I saw it
