Hi, I just bought a 06 Escape and the display on the radio (entertainment center) is dark. Radio works, just can't tell which station it is on. Also no clock. Ive read the manual that came with it and know how to set all the presets, I just can't see them. Any hidden switches or fuses I should know about. Any help would be appreciated.

 

This is a common and well known problem with the stock radios. There are a number of bad / cold solder joints on the power supply board inside the radio.
I have taken mine apart and re-soldered them and it worked for a while. The problem is the board flexes and re-cracks the solder joints.

easiest fix? replace radio with aftermarket head unit.
