Guy on Craigslist has a Tonneau cover for a 2008. Mine is a 2006. Will this fit my truck? Both have the 6.5 bed. Thanks guys and gals.

 

It will work just fine. The cover on my truck was originally on my friends 08.

It depends on the cover and how it forms to the top of the tailgate. The bed is the same but the tailgate is different as most people know since it's a popular update for older trucks. Especially for the hard shell tonneaus that cover he top of the tailgate, the difference in the shape may keep the cover from closing and locking. It may be easier for a later tonneau to work on an earlier tailgate but not the other way around since the newer tailgate has that broad flat top edge on it that has to be cleared.

 

The inside edge of the tailgate is the same....

True, but the top is not the same and some tonneaus cover the top of the tailgate.

 

I've never seen a soft cover that wraps around like a topper.

Thanks guys. Worked like a dream. Now needs to be painted from Green to white. Was a Leer 700 and looks great. Guy just wanted $100. Thought it was fair,
