New Truck Problems

Picked up new truck on Thursday, drove it on the hwy for the first time today and it feels like rear end is bouncing. Truck has 150 miles. I'm hoping it's just balacing that it needs, taking it back to dealer on Monday.
2014 F150 Limited 4WD.
Any ideas what could it be?

tires out of round or a bad spot on one of them from the tie down method used to transport it on the truck or rail system

Did you check if the rear shocks are bolted up?
If the tires were outta round a short drive would of corrected that.

Congrats on your new truck!

Hmm bouncing huh? You could have them check for the balancing on the tires. I would bring it in to the dealer so they could check it.

Could be as simple as excessive pressure in the tires, together with an unloaded bed, will make it bouncy. Some people see the # on the sidewall (usually around 44psi max) and they shoot the air to em and don't consider any other possibilities. Easy to check anyway

I didn't think of the tire pressure, you know how it is when you get a new truck and find something wrong with it.

not always true. I had to put 3000 miles on a set driving from Texas to here and Americas tire here they told me they where out of round so bad they replaced them. I was told its very common for tires to be oval in shape just most wont ever notice it if its only one tire or in the back

I know I wouldn't run my tire pressure that high. Especially if you plan on driving empty most of the time.

I agree I run my tire pressure at 35 which is the recommended pressure labeled on the door sticker. (At least for my tires)

I run my F250 tires at 60 psi and they don't bounce, even when unloaded.

i'd guess nothing is wrong and you just need to get the feel of your new truck.

now if you said vibration on the highway i'd say wheel need to be better balanced but you said bouncing ...........

Very nice truck you have

Thanks.
We bought 2 trucks that day both 4x4 one with the 18 inch rims, that one runs smooth as silk.
The steering on the Limited does not shake, is very steady the bouncing comes from the rear.
I don't think there's getting use to driving down the interstate with half the truck bouncing.

Any news from the dealership, MIKE1646? I'd like to get this in front of your regional customer service manager so they can help. To make that happen, PM me your full name, best daytime phone number, VIN, mileage, and servicing dealership; I'll get this moved up the chain.

Crystal
