A Mustang convertible... That's the stuff dreams are made of!!!

 

Made it home, really enjoyed the car! But I felt so much better hopping in my truck to move it last night.

I can say I honestly missed our traffic at home, I spent so much time stuck in traffic over the last 5 days it was stupid. We did 525 miles over 19:45 hours.

 

Russ, how'd you like the new body mustang? i didn't see i'm sure you posted the motor, but what motor? ecoboost i'd probably assume being a rental. i almost got a 13-14 body convertible GT 6spd instead of my dually last year, but i needed something practical. in a few years when finances get sorted out a bit better, i'd like to add a 13-14 GT to the fleet, possibly a new body, but the 13-14 would probably be even cheaper in a few years, and frankly i think out of the new/newish mustangs, 13-14 looks the best. the 15+ is growing on me though. i saw you posted you're a sucker for a drop top, i am myself too, even though i've never had one LOL. the few times i've driven one/rode in one, i love them. i have driven a 13-14 GT convertible on a test drive, it was freaking amazing......really wish i could afford one right now lol

 

So it was a 2016 EcoBoost 4 cylinder auto which is the mid range engine in the current Mustang's. The V6 is the base, the Eco is middle of the pack and of course the GT is the top dog. I was super surprised with the engine! I do not enjoy the 3.5 Ecoboost in the F-150 but I loved the little Eco 4 cylinder in the Stang! I've never been a mustang guy or a car guy (except classics) but this car I could own. I really like the 2015 body style although the older ones are super nice also.

Our '56 Bel Air and '72 Olds being convertibles, they grew my love for convertibles from a small age.

 

the curiosity in me wants to drive an ecoboost stang. i may go fake like i want to buy one at the dealer just to drive one. i assume the make the ecoboost in manual too?

Yeah they come in 6 speed manual or auto. It really surprised me and blew away the 2014 V6 stang I had when I was in Seattle back in September 2014, which happened to be black also. Go down and take one out, It's not the same kick in the pants as the 5.0 but it gets the job done for sure and the turbo noise was nice.

Yea i plan to come up there one day for sure and that would be awesome to show me around! Hell i could even go by myself if that's the case haha.

 

So, I've been driving pretty easy for the last 300 or so miles. I noticed today how lethargic and unresponsive driving like an old person makes the truck. I reallllly want to get a tuner and make it a little more snappy!

So this weekend I'll be taking the truck, 4 wheeler and my travel trailer about 120 miles north for the fourth of July. We are running cars off the cliff, shooting bowling ***** out of a cannon and general red neck stuff haha

So prepping to head out tomorrow morning, pulled my bed cover off. I have to do this to put the 4 wheeler in the bed and put the tailgate up. Well I decided to check the tire pressure in the 4 wheeler tires. They had maybe 2lbs in them so I aired them up and loaded it. The damn tailgate wouldn't shut!! haha I had to let the air back out of the tires and bring a compressor with me lol

Trailer is loaded, truck is loaded, all hooked up and ready to head out.

 

How long is that Jayco? and what year is it?

 

1997 20', I plan to upgrade in a few years to a 25ish ft with a slide out. Until then it does the job alright. I scored it from a family member for $1k so I can't complain. It doesn't leak, and everything works except the fridge on propane.

 

Nice camper for the money. Id like to get one myself, but funds wont allow it right now.

 

Had a great time, the truck pulled amazingly as always.

The gal in the Prius was driving like a jerk weaving in and out. I decided to teach her a lesson at the 2 - 1 merge lane after the red light...with the trailer and 4 wheeler in the bed.
