Is your sales truck an XLT? If so it has a different transfer case than your truck, so the experience may vary a little.

Yes, it is and does, I'm aware. But neither should be making the horrendous noises mine is when locked in 4 High.

Sure enough heat has something to do with it, just pulling the truck out of the garage and trying it out first thing it doesn't make a peep. After you put about 10 miles on it then it changes and starts making noise. There is a real loud bang when you switch directions also.

Supposed to be warm this week making the roads dry up, thus making it hard to try and reproduce the sound on a good snowy icy surface. I may have to wait until next week if we get some snow.

Going to have to wait for the weather to get better, Mean it to cool down and snow to give me the road conditions i need to show my concerns. until then i'll just run it and see what happens. Worst part is even if it snows in town, it can be totally different weather in Wasilla at the dealer i want to take it to.

In the mean time just driving her, can't ask for a better commuter Going to work and going home in the pitch dark sucks but is just what happens in AK in December.

(tonight)

I always come home in the dark. I would have to live pretty far north to have day light on my commute home. I need sunshine.

We have such a wild swing of light you have to bare with me, today the sun rises at 10:09 AM and set at 3:40 PM giving us 5 1/2 hours of daylight. within a few months it'll be light out when i go to work and come home...then summer time i'll be light nearly 24 hours...other then some dusk type of light for a few hours.

It really gets to people who move up here, I'm born and raised so i'm pretty used to it.

I lived in Frankfurt Germany for awhile. Loved the summers I think we had about 17 or 18 hours of daylight. Even when it was dark it wasn't that dark. The winters we worked all day inside, so it didn't matter that we only had a few hours of light. It was dark on the way in and dark on the way home.

Started changing out bulbs for LED, got the cargo light done and interior lights. Along with the front marker lights (just the small 194 marker bulb not the turn signal)

What a huge difference! Very bright for the long dark Alaskan nights!

they are very nice and bright! have a few others on my to do list.

I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas! I went out to Wasilla on the 24th in the AM to have breakfast with some friends back home visiting, then did my last min shopping.
I filled up about 2pm on the 24th and tonight when i pulled in the garage i'd gone 80 miles. I seriously had not left my little part of town but running between houses 5 miles here 10 miles there added up really quick apparently haha

It started snowing this morning and i had high hopes, but it stopped after maybe 2" then got real warm (38F) so it was pretty much a let down....like this whole winter.

Finally put LEDs in the license plate lights tonight, looks much better. Also ran it through the car wash but it didn't do a great job. The last warm up covered it in road grime that will take a good hand washing to get it clean. Debating on giving it a good detail this weekend since it really needs it!

block heater pig tail cord

Awesome truck! I have #151 mine has factory block heater but looks like it needs a pigtail cord to plug into 110v. Do you have one? Or know how to get one!
