Had a work dinner to attend tonight, i got there around 5:45pm and i had driven with my parking lights/fog lights on. Well with it still being light out and the dash always being lit in this truck i got out without shutting them off. came out at 7:45pm to find my lights still on but she fired right up with the remote start luckily!

On the way home i filled up, got 13.9 mpg on this tank. this thing is a economy car compared to my Excursion! only doing about 30 cents per mile compared to 43 cents per mile! still have half a tank of fuel in the Excursion..i need to drive it!

Needs a wash job badly with all the rain recently and some wax before winter...Its supposed to clear up and be nice next week but i'll be out of state all week.

Glad to hear you are loving your truck Russ! Sorry you have to drive around with that horrible background all around you all the time.

Russ just a little food for thought. Your truck should have automatic headlamps. You should set them to the auto feature and leave them there. That way you never have to worry about that again. But glad to hear that you were able to fire it right back up.

Yes it does have the Auto setting. After putting my HIDs in i don't want to use it though, as quick on/off is not good for HID bulbs/Ballest's. Also at start up if they come on before the truck starts the voltage drop at start-up can cause them to go out. So just to avoid issues i turn them on manually as i have my Explorer and Excursion which also had auto headlights.

Plus i like to drive around even in the day with my parking lights/fog lights on for extra visibility.

And i know my surroundings are so dull and boring….

I don't know what winter is like by you, it sucks in Indiana. It's even worse in Minnesota where my daughter lives. It's tough to keep the truck clean & looking like new. Too much salt & cinder and sand on the roads. I always try to get that last minute before winter wax on the truck as well, trying to keep that shine on.

I know a guy who has a dredge in Nome, comes back with 5 gallon buckets full of gold every time it seems.

Defiantly fall around here, time to get all the last min stuff done around the house and make sure the trucks are all ready for another harsh winter. Today i ran my Grandpas winter wheels we picked up off CL for his Sport Trac down to get new blizzak snow tires put on, so i had a bed full of tires.

its 5'5" same as the basic bed size on F-150 Super crews since 2003.

I have an F-250 with a 8' bed and trailer if i need it.

Nope that's an 8 foot bed. But I must say I prefer the cargo in the pic of that old chebby to the cargo in Russ' pic. Hehehehe.
