Old, petrified tires spin and slide EASY!

I found a couple of OLD bias ply tires that my old man had stashed away. They're G70-14s mounted on pickup wheels. They have got to be from the 70s.

So seeing as how they're really not useful anymore, and they were mounted and held air, I decided to bolt them on the back of my truck and see how well I could smoke them!

The answer is, WAY TOO EASILY! Hahaha

These things are just so darn slick that I can do rolling burnouts. I can be going 30mph, punch it and start smoking and sliding all over the place!

I haven't tried this yet, but my cousin tells me that I should bleach them. I might, but they spin easy already.

I've been having tons of fun getting sideways around corners and doing donuts. Heck somehow I even managed to pull of a figure 8! Don't ask me how! Haha

More or less, the point of this story is that this just proves to me how GRIPPY my new, somewhat soft tires really are. And that I can do donuts with an open differential.

Leave and come back with a video.

My dad has the original spare tire from his '73 Camaro in the trunk. It still holds air and looks brand new.

Bleach will give you lots of smoke and a cool video. Be careful not to blow those tires and take out your bed side.

Aw yes figure eights are fun when done in a safe place!

This reminds me of how much times have changed.

Back in the early days of fast vehicles, a burn out was from true power to the rear wheels busting them loose smoking them down the street.

Todays guys way of thinking of a burn out is with the use of a front brake lock, forcing the rears to bust loose an smoking them at a dead stop.

I don't get it, guess. I'm getting to old to comprehend this style of burning up the rear tires as being of any way of having a high performance engine.

Is it just me? for thinking of this is the way of great way display of showmanship of, Hey Look at Me smoking tires!

I understand them warming them up for a race tho!

I can imagine how that thing is with them tires on. I've put some old ones on my 64 and did some of the same stuff. Starting a thread like this you gotta get some videos up though. Even some pics for now
