Yes, they also have a higher recovery rate than most as well.

 

If your going to steal a vehicle you at least want a chance to get away, I would think.

 

If I was a chevy guy I'd say they steal them then realize they don't want them.

I always thought these lists were very misleading unless they take into account market share of each vehicle. i.e. if there are more of them out thee then more of them will be stolen. F150 and SD are usually high on these lists, but of course they are when they are the best selling truck year after year. Doesn't help that the F150 and SD were extremely easy to break into with minimal damage for many years and actually might still be. Not sure if Ford ever addressed the key lock pop issue.

 

I was in Bolivia a few years back & I saw this big black Lincoln Navigator driving down the street. No plates and a bumper sticker saying"My daughter is a US Marine". Wonder where they got that vehicle?
