Running Rough.96 f-150 Straight 6
It all started when the Fuel pump went bad. I replaced it and the Fuel Filter. Fifty miles later I was running on 3 cylinders. I removed the Fuel tank again and cleaned it out. I assume a lot of cr-p got sucked up into the Fuel injectors.I tore it all down and re-built the Injectors and it now runs on all 6 but it still runs rough and doesn't accelerate properly when in gear. There is a vacuum line with 3 intakes on it that appears to have run under the manifold but I just don't remember it being there. I can not for the life of me figure out where that line goes. Another problem is the Tube that runs from the Exhaust to the intake. I had to cut it just to get the manifold off and I still need to get a Torch to get the other end off the Exhaust. In the meantime I stopped it up! I don't know if the lack of this Tube will cause rough running or not? A few years ago the Rear tank rotted out and I removed it. I only use the Front Tank since I stay local with the Truck. It always ran well up until the fuel pump going bad. I was also wondering if the sediment from the tank could have caused a problem with the Fuel Regulator? I will hate to tear it all apart again just on a guess.
Any insight will help a great deal. One more thing. The fan for the Heater was running slow. Every time I would accelerate the engine the fan would speed up. Now the fan has died. Fuses all appear ok. This problem was acting up around the same time as the fuel pump problem. I have to get this Truck fixed for running this Farm. Thanks, Sean

Did you happen to notice anything else fluctuating along with engine RPM? Dash lights for example.
Check alternator output at idle, under load, at 2500 RPM etc. Can be caused by loose grounds or connections, or failing regulator, etc etc. This lack of regulation can roast other components and sensitive gee-gaws.
