P1219-CID stuck low?

i just bought a 1996 powerstroke, previoulsy had a 2000 7.3 and a duramax so im pretty familiar with them but today i was playing with auto enginuity and it passed the CCT but when i did the buzz test and KOEO test it came back with 2 codes. they diddnt trip the ses light though. the codes are 1219-CID stuck low, and 1298 IDM failure. i dont think i have a bad idm because the truck runs fine but im not sure about the 1219 code. is that an internal idm problem or maybe a bare wire shorting out? what is CID? thanks

This website will definately help you, the codes are about halfway down its a pretty long page
Tips - Idea - Hints
Im not sure how to make it a hypertext link. this is the 1219 code off that site

1219 PCM/IDM CID stuck low Cyl. identification line stuck low (historical fault only) CID circuit short to ground, probably intermittent

thats what i thought. its a weird code. i would think an idm failure would cause all kinds of problems? im wondering if there is a wire rubbed through somewhere on the cid circuit shorting it out and because that code is thrown the computer thinks the idm is bad also. just wondering if anyone had this problem and if it was an internal idm problem or an external(wiring) issue

I had the 1298 and bought a new IDM and sure enough I still get the 1298. I dont worry about it and keep the old IDM under the seat just in case.

the 1219 is a chaffed or broken wire, its pin number 96 on your pcm. a yellow with lihgt blue tracer. runs from the pcm to the idm, if that wire is good then the idm is bad.

the 1298 is probably related to the first code.

certains things i do remeber photographicly, but with each passing day there are less and less....lol. the tank parts are taking over. i do recall most of the basic circuits but i always double check my pced's before posting when it comes to wire colors and numbers
