How about a truck rally in the Poconos?

I went to Truckstop 14 this past June and enjoyed it and the people .
I am wondering if there would be any interest in doing something similar in the Pocono Mountain area. The place we stayed in Ohio was perfect but really a long ride for my old truck and its old driver. It was about 550 miles for me so I am thinking something a bit closer would be of interest to some in the Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, Delaware, and Connecticut areas.
I would like to have nice Lodge rooms and a restaurant on site
Any ideas, comments or criticisms are appreciated
Thanks

I think this would be a great idea, it's about 830 mile one way trip for me. It's a tad farther than Doc's for me. I would be interested in attending if the time worked for me. I wouldn't be able to do it any more this year because of a new job but maybe next year, spring or fall.

The meets so far have been great. I don't know why more haven't sprung up in different parts of the country. I am hosting one in SE WI this September. These aren't huge gatherings, just a couple dozen people. Nothing super fancy just a friendly get togethers.

Yeah! And if it were planned for next year, I may have something to drive there! I'd still come this year, would just have to drive the wife's Taurus

If I ever get mine back on the road, this sounds great! Too many honeydoos to do much last fall.

Sounds like a great idea in a good location for a lot of guys that haven't been able to attend the other get togethers. Take the bull by the horns and make it happen. Give me a yell if you need any advice or want to pick my brain about the two Truckstocks that I have hosted so far. I'm the one who started this "craziness".

Guys, you don't need a running, drivable truck to make this happen. These meets have been about FTE members. It's nice to have a decent showing of old trucks but really, 90% of the time spent at these meets is just sitting/standing around talking to members and getting to know face to face people we've been typing with for years. It's a good time, that's all that matters.

Bob's right! I missed the first Truckstock for medical reasons and was lucky enough to make it to the second one. Not everybody drove their trucks there, but we all had a great time. This year I had planned to drive my truck to Truckstock, but she just wasn't up to the trip, so instead the wife and I jumped in the car and made the trip. One other couple showed up in a car and another had flown in and didn't have their truck either, but that didn't stop the fun and good times. Doc got this idea started after some of us tired of the long days in hot parking lots at various car / truck shows. There is no 'competition' involved, just plain fun and good company.

I would probably attend. Close enough i might even be able to trailer my truck there if its not running yet. Only about 2 hrs depending on where in the poconos.

Sounds like this idea might be coming together.

Any idea of when this would be happening? I think it's too late for this year but next spring? I'll have some vacation time by then and I've never been in that part of the country. I just might be crazy enough to bring the F-2.

Bumping your thread back to the top, Ed. Do you have a ballpark idea of a possible location within the Poconos or elsewhere in the Pennsylvania area? I think it would be a great idea for the guys in the Northeast.
