A/c compressor kicks on in the defrost position

So I was messing around trying to clean up the dash of the truck and started messing with the climate control and when I put it in the defrost and floor position or the the defrost position the A/C clutch kicks in. Call me crazy but I don't think its supposed to do that. What am I looking at here? If I got start tracing wires to fix this mess I will but if its not the wiring is there any off chance it could be something else?

They are supposed to do that. The a/c helps the defrost remove moisture thus de-fogging the windows faster.

I never knew that, now I almost wished i had googled that one. Thanks for telling me at least I feel better knowing some hillbilly didn't kill my wiring for whatever reason before I got the truck.

Here's my electricians. I'll put you in touch with them if repairs are needed.

Better be some silicone holding that think on thoose sandles (like everything else some cars have, I got a engine that was put together with household silicone of all things). Gave me a good laugh though .

The big pump in my E40D transmission was assembled from 2 different pump halves, and assembled with aquarium silicone.

I can laugh about this now. $1200 for a new pump assembly and solenoid plungers and labor. Runs like a top now.

I got a car once that had a head gasket blown. Inside the car, there was 4 tubes of Liquid Nail it. Apon trying to remove the cylinder head I found where the most of the tubes of Liquid Nail went!!

That crap ruined that engine too. At least I got it for body parts. not for the engine.

Don't feel bad, my brother inlaw called me up for the same thing about the AC compressor running in defrost too. Actily not many people even know this does occur, even less know the reason for it.

Up at the shop I worked at we just used a head gasket sealant called red devil on some poor dodge that a women overheated and blew out the head gasket (maybe the gasket went first and caused the overheat I'm not sure how it went) and I can just see it coming back in about three days or so. I never understood why people think a bottle of crap that says will do something actually works. Great way to kill a good engine if you ask me. Now that makes me feel better knowing I'm not alone, I figured I was that one guy that just never knew for some reason. If its the way ford made it I ain't gonna mess with it when I got enough to fix as is in this old girl.

I was watching Fast and Loud the other night and they bought a 66 Mustang and got it for a good price but needed some work. They go to start taking stuff out of the engine bay and every single screw and bolt was glued together with superglue! Can you imagine what the previous owner must have been thinking "if I superglue it all together it'll be restored forever, I'm a genius!"
