2008 Ford Escape Fuel gauge is not working.

2008 Ford Escape Fuel gauge is not working.
This morning I turned my truck off but put it on enough to leave the radio on which I never usually do. Well I filled it up, it was only at 3/4 of a tank but we are going on a longer trip later this week so I wanted to fill up. Well it still shows that I have 3/4 of a tank in my truck. Will it fix itself after I drive it a round?
