comment in the other thread was that increased pressure yields a harsh ride.

I gotta think that means without load.. you will have to adjust the pressure depending on load.. I have the airlift Wireless One controller so I can do that.

Mods may want to merge the two threads since they are in the same forum now

I have a friend with a 2011 F-450 with a Classy Chassis hauler bed (real nice BTW).
The bed adds about 1000 pounds over stock bed weight.
He has Firestone airbags.

He is a traveler, so the truck is packed with the essentials.
With his trailer hitched up and I'm guessing 3500+ of pin weight, the truck still has the sag, even with 55-60 PSI of air in the bags. And it is still hitting the overloads

Anyone else experience this?
Your friend might want to look into a set of SuperSprings. I have had air bags in the past and they were not bad. However, after I installed a set of Supersprings on my last truck and loved them, I installed them on my F350.

He will not have a sagging problem with SS's. The ride quality in my truck is just fine and I never have to worry about adjusting air pressure. Also, the design of the SS makes sense because you are distributing the load to the factory designed points on the frame for more stability. Of course, I also have Hellwig Big Wig sway bar and my setup is rock solid. I do not want to start a debate on which is better, but it sounds like your friend might benefit from the SS's.

The 4" blocks was my first suggestion. If the numbers are right, he is not getting a lot of lift form the bags. I'll get to see it first hand on Wednesday through Sunday though.

Adding air much over 60 starts to degrade the ride, regardless of the load.

Is it possible to adjust the lower mounts? I know the lower mount for the SRW trucks is height adjustable.

If he’s still experiencing sag with the addition of airbags, he might consider Torklift’s StableLoad suspension upgrade. The factory overloads on the truck are engineered to engage when the truck starts to squat under load allowing for extra support. The StableLoads are meant to engage the overloads earlier so his truck has increased stability, remains level and has overall better handling.

Airbags and StableLoads work great in conjunction – however in a lot of cases I’ve seen, those who have tried the StableLoads first did not need to move forward with installing airbags. Check out this thread on some experiences other users have had – LINK.

Let him know he can find dealer in the area on our website, however if there are any questions just send me a PM.

Threads merged.

Long story short - he should increase the airbag pressure slowly to compensate for the sag and find a happy medium with the ride comfort.

I air my firestones up to 80psi with a truck camper in the back that probably weighs around 2100lbs and don't have a problem with the ride.

Sag is also there with truck empty. Increasing the bag pressure to level is a very high pressure.

I looked at the truck this weekend, trying to convince him the SRW blocks would most likely solve the issue.

The hauler bed adds over 900 pounds over the stock bed. Plus some tools, a 250+ pound hitch and a 60 gallon aux tank.
