Programmer for 98 E-250 5.4 ?
Hello, my name ist Karsten and I'm new to this site.
After owining a couple of Explorers which crapped their auto trannies on me, I decided to never buy a Ford, even more a Ford with auto, anymore.
That being said, I bought myself a '98 E-250 cargo van last week
It's an ex-US Army vehicle used in Germany with 1 civilian owner and less than 80k mls on it. 5.4 Triton, 4RW70, D60 semi floater with LSD is what I already discovered. The big aux tranny cooler tells me that there's also a tow package involved. The engine is converted to run on LPG/propane with a 25 gallon tank where the stock spare tire used to sit.
Originally I was after a 4WD van for towing the race rig (Baja style races with a Jeep TJ) and camp in it. Maybe I'll convert mine someday to 4x4.
One thing I need is a programmer to set the speedo to the new tire size since I plan running 265/75-16's with a 2" leveling kit.
If I can get some extra power out of the programmer, I wouldn't mind. I had the Flashpaq in my '00 RAM and it gave me good results.
It seems that I only find programmers for the F-series, but none for the van

Visit the V10 Modular Motor forums here on FTE and look for the sticky thread about Mike @ 5 Star Tuning. He's pretty much the go to guy when it comes to programming any modular motor. Don't let his overwhelming endorsement of the V10 world discourage you---he can work much the same magic for the V8 MM's too.
