I ordered that one on 5-13-14 and they called me the next day and said they were out of stock. I ask when would they be back in stock and he never knew. He said the supplier , who is a middle man from the manufacture is real hard to get information from .
Good grief..

Okay, I finally took a pic of the Dorman manual and power regulators. Darn work keeps interfering with my posting..
Anyway, it looks like there are some differences in number of mounting holes, hole locations, as well as the arm length from the pivot point to the slider. Also, the present regulator is attached with bolts, while the new one came with large rivets.
I doubt the obstacles are insurmountable, but it will take some fabbing, I'm sure.

They do look close enough that I'm sure you can find a way to mount them up. One thing I would watch out for is the gear teeth on the arm. The 70's one has much more down travel and much less up travel than the 80's one. This to me would mean that the regulator was meant to be mounted much lower down on the door frame and may need to be mounted right about where the factory speaker hole is.

Here is to hoping I am wrong!
Power windows are so cool in these old trucks

I put all four power windows from a 1995 F250 in my 75 crewcab, the fronts are pretty easy, you just have to flip the rears upside down, I used the loom, motors and switches.

Do you have a write up or any pictures showing the modifications/install?

Do your rear widows go all the way down?

I had planned on doing a write up on it, yes the windows in the back go all the way down, you have to take out the stop, cut 2 more teeth in the arm and shorten the arm, I will dig out some pics, I have the truck apart for complete paint inside and out and will be assembling the windows within a week, the new steel inside panels I made for the rear doors are easy templates for anybody who wants power rears, I dont want to hijack this front window post with rear info and all my front pics are on another computer, I added some pics on the rears to my photos here, just look at Old Super Crew
I will get info about the front here soon, i'm waiting on the last few parts from LMC before final assembly of the doors after paint.

Nice work on the rear power windows Fitz,

Do the front door ones bolt into somewhat the original location?

Yes, the front ones are mounted almost identical to the manual ones, if anybody is interested I will do a writeup of the install when I put it together this next week.
I will have to remember all the details as it has been a year since the truck went out for paint, you know how the "buddy" stuff can go.

I forgot to mention the door lock actuators also go with the power windows as a part of the install, overall it easy, the hardest part is installing the loom, drilling the 10 holes is a task, the doors must be off.

Ok I'm about to start a new thread, I am a better fabricator than a tech article writer, I hope everybody can understand it.
