new headgaskets...new oil leak
I've spent the last few weeks replacing head gaskets, and finally finished the project this afternoon.
Took it on a test drive and upon return, found dripping oil from what appears to be the left side rocker box. Since It is an actual drip and since i replaced the rocker box gaskets i'm hoping its actually the valve cover gasket.
i'm looking for some advise on how to proceed..

Need to clean it up good and with truck runing see if you can narrow it down to where it's leaking. Look at the valve cover, CCV tube, rocker box, exhaust manifold, glow plug connectors can also leak. Need to narrow it down before we can tell you how to fix. I will say this if it's a rocker box gasket you will need to replace the head gasket again (or at least I would), because all studs will have to come off to fix it. You don't want to reuse the head gasket once it's already been clamped down on.

EGR cooler or delete?
Look down between the oil cooler top assembly and see if there is any oil on the
top of the valley. Clean any that you find. Also make sure that the oil cooler top
assembly is clean and dry. Take a mirror or a borescope and look under the turbo
and make sure that the drain is fully seated into the turbo and HPOP cover. Clean
all the oil from under there as best as you can. Run engine for a few minutes while
looking around all the places I just mentioned for any oil. Two places to take a close
look are the EOT sender and Oil pressure switch. They both live on the top half of
the housing. and should of been installed with O-rings.

OK but what is the common solution to fix. I
have the same leak on the #1 glowplug I have pulled it and tried a new o ring, and an old O ring from the old harness, still have a drip. It drives me a little crazy, but it has not stopped leaking for 10k miles. Just a reason to check the fluids every fill up i guess.

I have just replaced the harness and that always works. I have never tried to replace the O-ring. I would think that would work, but most of the time the connector breaks when attempting to remove anyways. That being said I have never replaced the harness just to fix a leak there. Most of the time I'm replacing it for a different reason and you get the plus of it fixing the leak as well.
