Ford Edge will use the 2,7-l V6
A Sport version of the vehicle will be exclusively available with a 2.7-liter EcoBoost twin-turbocharged V6 expected to deliver more than 300 horsepower.

That´s the same engine as in the coming F-150. A hint about the horsepower. ....The current Duratec 37 has 305 hp but it´s one liter larger. Expect the new 2,7 liter in Mustang
The Edge Sport, meanwhile, has perhaps the most exciting of the available engine trio, packing Ford's new 2.7-liter, twin-turbocharged V6 under its hood. For those who need a refresher, the 2.7T is slated to arrive first in the next-generation F-150 before reporting for duty in the Edge. It boasts a block made from the same compacted graphite iron found in the F-Series Super Duty's big-dog 6.7-liter PowerStroke diesel. In such a small engine, Ford says a CGI block does wonders for the car's noise, vibration, and harshness characteristics, not to mention durability. Sadly, Ford isn't offering specifics on this engine's performance, aside from saying it will produce over 300 horsepower when it finally goes on sale.

Well, the 2.7EB is likely to produce similar power to the 3.7 N/A motor, which is commonly found in fleet vehicles. Just because it wouldn't be a good fit for you doesn't mean it won't have a market.

You know, there are some EB owners who are fine with what they have. They don't haul or tow or care about those capabilities. But I hear tons of EB owners who man up and admit that they bought the hype and they regret their choice. And then there's the crowd who know they got snookered but just don't want to admit it and go on about how great their EB is. Well keep telling yourself that boys.

It's not enough engine. But Ford is committed to it for some stupid reason. Why in the world do you think Ford has gone through the lengths they have to make the trucks lighter? V8 power with V6 mpgs just wasn't quite true. Why, because it wasn't enough engine for a Half ton and it couldn't give people what Ford claimed it could. They are trying to right that ship. They are gonna do whatever it takes to make Their EB investment pay off come hell or high water.

So many people don't bother to educate themselves and they buy more truck than they need totally ignoring the fact that power requires fuel.

All I will say here it that I too was a skeptic at first. Then I drove a 2012 F150 with the egobooster. And all I can say is wow. That truly is a great little engine. It sounds to me that daytomann hasn't driven a truck set up this way yet. And he really should go rent one and put it to the test. I think he'd be surprised. But that's just my opinion. Oh and I think he should watch Toms towing test videos he posted with his own truck.

These statements are insane. I have a 1967 F 250 with a big block that has under 200 HP. It can do EVERYTHING. There are those with the I6 150 HP 300 motor that can doe everything. Any base model truck has the capabilities to do anything needed. Go to Africa and you will seen minivans used as Mac trucks! The numbers game is for insecure teens.

Myself and 2 others I work with are 3.5 EB owners. Model years 11, 12, and 13. No issues, tows much better than a 5.0, pretty damn good mpgs on all 3 trucks.
Myself and 2 coworkers disagree with you.
